While their mission is clear, the digital infrastructure behind their operations needed enhancement to keep pace with growing demand and logistical complexity. The challenge was to simplify the insurance verification and product selection process for users—many of whom are new mothers—while managing compliance, eligibility, and documentation requirements. Their Magento platform needed better support for non-standard checkout flows, user education, and streamlined backend processing.

Tailored Magento Workflows for an Insurance-Focused E-Commerce Experience

Mavenbird worked closely with Yummy Mummy to develop a custom Magento solution that could manage both standard e-commerce and insurance-based product delivery. We designed a multi-step eligibility verification and checkout process, allowing customers to easily provide insurance information, select from covered breast pumps, and upload necessary documentation. We also improved the product discovery experience with targeted content modules and user education components to support new moms throughout their decision-making journey.

On the backend, we developed integrations that allowed Yummy Mummy’s team to automate much of the insurance verification process while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Custom dashboards and filtering tools enabled their support team to handle orders more efficiently, reducing delays and minimizing manual entry.
