Magento Version Upgrade & Custom Feature Implementation
Mavenbird successfully upgraded Global Furniture Group’s Magento platform from an older version to Magento 2.4.5, ensuring that the platform was equipped with the latest security updates and performance enhancements. As part of the upgrade, we addressed several key operational needs by implementing custom features. One of the key features was the addition of Liftgate charges to the checkout process, enabling accurate calculation of shipping fees. This functionality allowed both customers and dealers to view these charges clearly in their order details, improving transparency and trust. Another major addition was the development of custom dealer-specific discounts, ensuring that the correct pricing and incentives were applied exclusively to the dealer side of the site.
In addition to the feature enhancements, we integrated ERP AS400 with Magento to automate the flow of order and invoice information, streamlining the process and eliminating manual intervention. To further optimize inventory management, we implemented a real-time inventory sync between dealer portals and Magento using REST API and cron jobs. This ensured that product availability was consistently updated across both platforms, reducing the risk of stock discrepancies.
